Omega-3 fatty acids do actually promote weight loss in several ways. They help the insulin in your body work better and decrease insulin resistance.
They improve blood sugar control, which helps reduce food cravings and overeating. Omega-3s help your body to burn off calories before they get stored as fat.
The process of metabolism has been the centre of all discussions relating to weight loss. This particular topic of fish oil and weight loss is no different. For many years now fish oil is being considered as a great way to keep a check on the fat content in the body. Fish oil has Docosahexaenoic acid, known as DHA. What DHA does is pretty interesting; this chemical can actually help the body burn more fat. In other words DHA provides the necessary incentive to the process of metabolism thereby making it use more calories to burn fat in the body. This results in quick weight loss and also helps in fighting lethargy or physical inactivity. The process of metabolism is carried forward by certain enzymes; fish oil for weight loss also helps in activating these enzymes.
The highest concentrations of omega-3 fatty acids are found in cold water fish, such as sardines, salmon, herring, tuna, cod, mackerel, halibut, and shark. These fatty acids are also found in lower concentrations in plant foods such as Flaxseed, Walnuts, Great Northern beans, kidney beans, Navy beans, and Soybeans. Some registered dietitians recommend eating a diet rich in fish with high levels of omega-3 fatty acids or eating 1 or 2 teaspoons of flaxseed every day.
So, no more excuses! You can make easy switches to your diet today to help you eat healthier and lose weight.

Remember : Low carb AND low fat = starvation
Avoiding both carbs and fat results in hunger, cravings and fatigue. Sooner or later people can’t stand it and give up. The solution is to eat more natural fat until you feel satisfied.

Burn a minimum of 1,000 calories in aerobic exercise per week. This is equivalent to walking about ten miles over one week. You can spread it out into four 2.5 mile walks per week or any other combination you prefer. You can walk at any speed you like, but brisk walking is better.

Be Patient
It’s common to lose 2-6 pounds (1-3 kg) within the first week on a strict low carb diet, and then on average about one pound (0.5 kg) per week as long as you have a lot of weight remaining to lose. This translates into about 50 pounds (25 kilos) per year.
Every 5 pounds of fat loss roughly equals 1 inch lost around the waist (1 kilo = 1 cm).

Using such a fish weight loss plan may not suit every one, and it is necessary to keep your self hydrated while using this fish diet plan.

High protein diets do promote weight loss but caution is advised. Consult your dietitian or healthcare provider.

Very informative article, we are not fond of fish diet but we have been substituting our protein intake with grass fed beef. There are number of posts and studies showing that grass fed cattle’s meat contain Omega 3 compared to cattle that are fed with grain and corn… We are instead taking this omega 3 supplement – as an alternative anti inflammatory and it did help reduce muscle cramp and joint pain during routine workout.
