The Rescue Of Sandalwood

The aroma of Sandalwood has a deep meaning in many ancient rituals of the Eastern religions. Sandalwood oil has the same meaning in Eastern religions as for example the incense for the Christian religion. A timber from Sandalwood is used to make both the religious and secular characters and symbols.

Home of Sandalwood is South Asia and the plant is widespread in Indonesia, Indochina, Sri Lanka, and Australia.
Due to its tender, light woody and erotic scent Sandalwood is hugely used in the manufacture of perfumes, especially in men’s fragrances. In perfumery Sandalwood is also successfully used to highlight the strength of the other flavours, even when it is in small quantities. It can be used both as a note in fragrance and in its pure form as well.

Sandalwood is used for physical ailments, as a flavour for food, and for raising mood and reducing nervous tension and anxiety. The fragrance is a woody scent that is mild and sweet.
