Vodka is a distilled spirit that possesses high alcohol content. Because of this, the liquor has the potential to help you clean, easily complete everyday tasks, and treat health concerns. Vodka’s uses go far beyond the bar. Vodka isn’t just for drinking. From battling weeds to killing bad odours. Before it was shaken or stirred vodka was used as an antiseptic and a painkiller. Back in the 1400s when it was created, antiseptics were hard to come by, and painkillers were no easier. Vodka is 50% pure alcohol so it will kill most bacteria that it comes into contact with.

Aches and Pains Soak a flannel in in vodka and rub it to the effected area.

Bad Breath Use vodka as mouthwash. It performs the same basic functions as a commercial mouthwash, killing germs and eliminating odour.

Cold Sores When cold sores appear, apply some vodka to a cotton swab and dab it on the sore.

Cough Another great home remedy for cough that you can take is a teaspoon of honey with a few drops of Vodka.

Ear Infection will work to kill bacteria and germs that are cause pain in your ear. Put a few drops of vodka in your ear. Let set for a few minutes. Then drain.

Insect Repellent
Put some vodka into a spray bottle. Spray bugs such as wasps, mosquitoes, ants or bees to keep them away.

Relieve a Fever
The pain of a toothache can become unbearable. Swish a shot of vodka around your mouth to ease the discomfort. Allow the vodka to soak into your gums.

Cleanse Your Face
Simply soak a cotton ball in vodka and apply to your face to cleanse the skin and freshen your face.

Dandruff
Adding a shot of vodka into your shampoo helps to deep clean your hair by removing toxins and oily build up. You can get rid of dandruff by rinsing your hair with a mix of one cup of vodka.

Earache
With a clean eyedropper, put a few drops of vodka in your ear. Let it sit for a few minutes, then drain. The vodka will kill off the bacteria that’s causing pain in your ear.

Foot Odour Soak your feet in vodka to eliminate minor foot odour problems. Soak for about ten minutes to destroy bacterial sources of minor odour problems.

Sore Throat:
The alcohol content of vodka can numb a sore throat. Add one tablespoon of vodka to a glass of warm water, and then gargle.

Toothache
Relieve the pain by rubbing the gum area with vodka for a few minutes to numb the pain. Careful, don’t get tipsy…

Make a tincture
You can make a tincture of botanicals and vodka to use topically for a number of ailments or conditions. Fill a jar with a handful of flowers/roots/leaves and top with vodka.
